Your Baby

Your baby is now the size of a blueberry measuring about 9.5mm (0.37 inches) from Head to Rump and weighs around 1.1g.

Tiny buds will sprout which will become your baby’s Arms and Legs.  They look more like paddles at the moment.  Baby’s Heart has now developed it’s 4 chambers and the heart beat will become more regular rather than a random thump.  The Face is starting to make its debut.  Tiny eyes still in their early stages resembling darkened spots, little ear holes and a mini button nose and cute mouth starting to develop.

The Brain will be having a bit of a growth spurt and the Spinal Cord is forming.  Then there is the Liver gearing itself up to be the unsung hero responsible for blood cell production and their Pituitary Gland will be starting to produce hormones that influence their growth and development.

Your Body

If feeling often tired at this point it is understandable.  During Pregnancy your body is undergoing big changes to organs and your heart, blood and endocrine systems as well as the demands of your growing fetus and bodys changes to accommodate.   Food cravings or dislikes of foods you used to love can become apparent at this stage.  Chadwicks Sign can start at 8 weeks or anytime up until 12 weeks and you vagina may appear bluish even purple due to the increased blood flow.
