Common Issues That Can Be Present After Birth

Diastasis Recti is Separation (Diastasis) of the 2 Rectus Abdominis (Recti) muscles – the 6 pack muscles.  It occurs in everyone in the later stages of Pregnancy.   For about 60% of women by the 8 week point the gap will close and the tension in the Linea Alba between the muscles restore back to pre pregnancy.  For 40% they will still find they have a gap and may find their tummy is still protruding will need help in restoring core muscle strength to help the tension restore in the Linea Alba connective tissue.

Not all Tummys that are sticking out are due to Diastasis Recti.  It can be other reasons or a combination of reasons.  See below.
